Do I have to be a student to apply for an internship?
Yes. Applicants must be enrolled in a post-secondary program with an internship as a requirement. Your post-secondary institute must have a Workplace Safety and Insurance Board policy that covers you as an intern in the workplace. Proof of said insurance must be provided before you begin your placement term.
Is the Internship a paid position?
Scholastic’s internship program is on a voluntary basis and designed to reward you with the opportunity to observe and learn about the publishing industry first hand while gaining much valued job experience in the field.
How long is my placement?
Generally, interns are enrolled in a community college program that requires students to complete a predetermined length of internship: usually 4 – 6 weeks. We will, whenever possible, accommodate the college’s requirements and may extend the duration of the program based on the intern and Scholastic’s needs. We retain the right to terminate the relationship between the company and intern without notice should circumstances require such action.
