Set Up Your Book Fair Creating Table Displays Hot Picks Poster Display

Set Up Your Book Fair
Gather 3-5 volunteers and use these instructions as your guide to set up your Fair. Choose largest space available so customers can shop in comfort. Number of cases may vary due to sales & availability.

Step 1
Organize cases in order of reading level (indicated by coloured shelf talkers).
YELLOW – Beginning Readers;
RED
– Junior Readers;
BLUE
– Intermediate Readers.
Position cases in horseshoe shape around perimeter of room.
Locate YELLOW case nearest the entrance, followed by RED case & then BLUE case.

Step 2
Position tables in centre of Fair area. Allow plenty of room around each table for shopping.
Place Hot Picks Table at front entrance of Fair.
Put boxes of product beside each table & near appropriate case with similar reading level (i.e. Teen table by Blue case).
Locate Open Me First box that includes table covers, book easels, table signs & sign holders.

Step 3

Open cases & align so they are slightly touching each other (do not open fully).
Straighten books on cases.
Place table covers & table signs on appropriate tables.

Step 4
Set up table displays following instructions in Guidebook.
Place empty boxes under same table where books are displayed.
Use book easels to display product on tops of all cases & tables.
Use tops of cases to display additional books including hardcovers.

Creating Table Displays
Create attractive looking table displays using these 3 easy steps.

Step 1. Add Colour

Cover each table with table cover or fabric.
To create more display space, place one or more empty boxes that the books came in on centre of table, open side down. Cover boxes with table cover or fabric.
Place table sign & stand on top of box. Face sign towards Fair front entrance to draw shoppers to table.

Step 2. Attract Attention
Place product on front of table facing Fair entrance.
Stack larger books in centre of table with smaller stacks on either side.
Create pyramid effect to display.
Vary book covers between light & dark.

Step 3. Create Visual Appeal
Place smaller, odd-shaped items toward edge of table and continue to vary shape, colour & size.
Customers will approach & shop tables from all directions. Display product so there is something to catch their eye from every direction.

Hot Picks Table
