Making It a Family Event!
Celebrate with a Seaside Beach Party where parents and students can shop together! Try some of these fun and easy suggestions:
Activity Corner – Set up special area for younger children to keep busy while parents shop. Ask a volunteer or older students to supervise.
Ballot Box – Use fish bowl to collect Family Event Door Prize ballots – place near cashier table.
Classroom Wish List – Set up themed display board and encourage teachers and families to participate. Invite local businesses to take part with donations to purchase Wish List books.
Student Showcase – Display contest entries, artwork, poems, stories and other theme-related items created by students.
Book Fair Beach Suggestions
 If the gym is available, ask volunteers to supervise some seaside sporting events such as flipper races, hula-hoop ring toss, crab soccer and beach ball volleyball.
Some fun, seaside decorations can turn your Book Fair area into a hot reading zone.
 Ask students to wear sunglasses, hats, colourful paper leis or shell pasta necklaces, and bring a beach towel.
 Have Volunteers wear name badges to be easily recognized at the Fair – see Volunteer Recruitment Poster and Volunteer Name Badges provided. Theme t-shirts with artwork from Printable Resources section of our website. Just download and print onto iron-on transfer sheets (available at craft stores).
Top it all off by playing some fun beach music! |
