Creating a Fun Atmosphere!
Add a splash of creativity to your Book Fair! Ask volunteers and artistic students to lend their talents.
Artwork: Enlarge patterns provided using photocopier then copy or trace on to poster board, or cardboard. Use to decorate Fair.
 Beach Danglers: Decorate Fair perimeter with strings of beach danglers (themed letters spelling out themed message).
 Life Preserver: Cut large donut shape out of cardboard and decorate - edge with striped rope.
Palm Tree: Roll Bristol board into several cylinders – use masking tape to join pieces together. Wrap “trunk” in newsprint – top with construction paper leaves.
Pattern Suggestions: Enlarge patterns provided using photocopier and use to decorate Fair.
Sand Dunes: Cover sculpted cardboard pieces in Kraft paper and prop upright. Garnish with sprigs of dry grass.
Splashy Displays: Scatter borrowed items throughout your Book Fair area and use to theme table displays (seashells, pool noodles, lounge chair, beach towels, pail & shovel, mask & flippers, inflatable pool toys, etc.).
 Surfboard: Cut large piece of cardboard into surfboard shape and decorate.
Umbrella: Attach colourful canopy (poster paper or fabric) to top of old broom handle – position against wall.
Waves: Cut aqua-coloured table covers, fabric or poster paper into “waves” and attach to wall. Add white accents to crests to create “white caps”.
