Outfitting Your Volunteers*
Have your volunteers wear name badges to be easily recognized at the Fair. Ask one or two to dress in costume and greet visitors as they arrive for your Family Event.

Ancient Egyptian Costume Suggestions:
Tunics: Lengthy garments (oversized t-shirt, dress, robe, etc.) belted at waist (knee-length for boys, floor-length for girls)
Leggings: Long strip of cloth wound around each leg then tucked into pair of shorts worn beneath tunic
Collars: Cardboard or foam collars adorned with beads, dry pasta, glitter, etc.
Jewelry: Pendants, bracelets and bangles, rings and
other heavy jewelry
Makeup: Dark eye-shadow with heavy eyeliner
Footwear: Sandals
Crook & Flail: Symbolic pieces carried by the reigning Pharaoh or Queen to show their status.
(Wire hangers, aluminum foil, coloured tape)
Headdresses:
Boys: Pharaoh’s crown (Bristol board, foil); everyday cloth headdress (striped cloth, felt, foil)
Girls: Queen’s crown (Bristol board, foil); brightly-coloured headband with cobra accent, worn above the brow; strands of beads joined at the crown, held in place with hair clip

T-Shirt Art
Volunteers can also don T-Shirts decorated with the Pyramid of Books logo.
T-Shirt Art – You can also download artwork onto printer transfer sheets (available at craft stores) and then iron onto to T-shirts, cloth bags, and other items.
