Publicize your Book Fair to the Community and encourage teachers and families to attend. Try these easy ways to promote within your community:
Extend your Book Fair outside regular school hours by hosting a Family Event that brings families together to celebrate books and learning.
Send copies of the Book Fair Highlights flyer to local preschools and home-school groups and invite them to your Fair.
Announce Book Fair dates
in school newsletter and on the school website & marquee.
Send media releases to local TV, radio, or news media.
 Display Generic
Banner provided in a prominent place such as the main student drop off area.
Invite local businesses to participate in your Fair by making a donation – either prizes or gift certificates – or by purchasing books through the Classroom Wish List.
Partners in Reading
Partners in Reading is a way of inviting local business to
support your Book Fair by:
Providing cash donations towards purchases of books for your school & classroom libraries
Donating prizes, gift certificates or free services for Family Night draws
Target Sponsors
Develop List of Potential Sponsors
Local businesses that cater to kids or families
Businesses owned or operated by students’ families
Stores in your area – coffee shops, hair salons, restaurants, banks, dry cleaners, grocery stores, movie theatres, etc.
Vendors that supply to your school (ie. pizza)
Ask for Donations
Tell business about upcoming Fair
Mention you are a regular customer
Invite them to be a sponsor – in person
