CHINESE LANTERN
String a bunch of these festive paper lanterns from your ceiling and create your own Chinese Palace!
MATERIALS:
- Different coloured paper (construction paper or gift wrapping-paper)
- Scissors
- Glue, tape or a stapler
- Glitter, beads (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
- Fold a rectangular piece of paper in half, making a long, thin rectangle.
- Cut about a 4-inch piece of thread. Tie one end around a bead.
- Make about 12 (or more) cuts along the fold line, but don’t cut all the way to the edge of the paper.
- Unfold the paper and glue the edges of the paper together.
- Cut a strip of paper for the handle (about 6 inches long) then glue it to the top of your lantern.
- Now your lantern is ready to be decorated. Use glitter, beads, feathers or paint to create your own beautiful Chinese pattern!
