Ice Age Cave Bear
by Barbara Hehner
Illustrated by Mark Hallet

Imagine being inside a dark cave when a huge bear rears up on its hind legs, snarls and bares its long pointed teeth right at you! Giant cave bears were once greatly feared — and revered. Did ancient peoples actually worship these enormouse beasts? What did these bears look like, how did they live, and why did they become extinct? Ice Age Cave Bear examines these questions and tells the story of these prehistoric creatures in fascinating detail.

"...Readable text...accompanied by full-colour photographs and Hallett's rich, realistic illustrations, the book is eye-catching and informative." — School Library Journal

"The combination of breathless adventure with fascinating facts, colour artwork, photos and maps, gives kids a taste of science and ecology as they're making their way through a compelling narrative." — Booklist
