Many girls have said to me, “Vlad, sometimes it’s so hard to find the right vampire. I go after all the wrong ones. Some of them even turn about to be . . . human!” Believe me, I understand this confusion. It used to be so easy to tell everyone apart. The difference between a vampire and a human was as clear as the difference between drinking blood and drinking Pepsi. But then the wannabes appeared—human boys who dress themselves up like vampires in order to get girls. They’ll say they’re doing it for other reasons (they like a certain band; they think they look good in black; they’re anemic), but, trust me, they’re only trying to trap girls into loving them. Do not fall for this. You deserve much more than a knock-off. You deserve the real undead.
